DSK 500
Technopark

2022

1. ATTENTION TO THE REGION, HISTORY AND EFFECT OF THE PROJECT

The first layer deals with the history of the region, the town of Tyumen and the DSK-500 territory itself. Tyumen region is an important interface between Europe and Asia, historic trade routes, as weil as new ones for the future have developed
here. The region is known for rich deposits of oil and gas, an important basis for the generation of energy supply and its further development. On the greater scale the task should be to preserve the history of the region and to carefully integrate new impulses. This means using existing recourses in the area in a sustainable way and establishing new values. On the scale of the city the task is to integrate our project into the changing urban fabric. The district of Tyumen where the project is located is currently under rapid changes. lt is transforming from the previously industrial suburb to a pleasant residential neighbourhood. The huge territory of the Technopark should therefore incorporate public functions and respond as a new point of attraction for the surrounding residents.

2. NEW MODEL FOR TECHNOPARK-A PLACE OF POSSIBILITIES WHERE INTERACTION IS THE MAIN DRIVER OF DEVELOPMENT AND GROWTH

The transfer from traditional high-tech technologies into industrial production with the help of technoparks is a long process that consists of the following stages: obtaining new knowledge; applying it in research activities; extracting practical benefits; experimentation with the ensuing formation of the technological process; the application of it in practice; the organization of small-scale production. The main trigger of this process is interaction with like-minded people. Therefore we paid attention in our project to public and semi-public spaces of different types and scales. Modules of offices and Iabs are linked with a rational grid of corridors, bridges and passages that function like streets in the
city and Iead to public spaces - central court (park), business incubator (forum), and expo-zones (various meeting spaces and pavilions).

3. A WHOLE ECOSYSTEM UNDER ONE ROOF

A large part of the economic ecosystem will be united under one roof. Thus within the protective shell of the DSK 500, the spatial proximity of the partner residents generates a creative atmosphere, which Ieads to synergy effects and innovative ideas. These new ideas and processes are subject to cycles that strategically build on each other. The system is a kind of family, in which people from different research and business areas come together and share their experiences. The final aim is to effectively research, test and produce innovative prototypes. The new Technopark will become an international meeting place at the interface of different areas such as chemistry, energy, ecology and forestry. The ultimate goal of this close interaction and integration is to envision and prepare for a sustainable future, in terms of both business and nature.

4. ICONIC LANDMARK AND PUBLIC ATTRACTION

Where there used to be a production site without an 'image', there will be a bustling new icon. lt will become the internationally recognizable architectural symbol for the City of Tyumen and the whole industry. Here we offer an extensive range of different functions, which basically perform independently but are connected in different ways. Featured are an iconic entrancerepresentative of the character of the complex, a main avenue with expo zones and the central park at its center, as weil as a hotel, Ieisure activities connected to the lakeside, exhibition spaces and a coworking center located in the south, all of which will make this an attractive place for the public. A place where people interact, a space where people spend time between work and home, a place that allows for the organization of different kinds of open events; business events, in cooperation with the local chamber of commerce; scientific and educational events in cooperation with the University of West Siberia, or different social events regarding art and welfare.

5. ICONIC LANDMARK AND PUBLIC ATTRACTION

The use of current technologies in connection with their further development is the basis for the use of the available natural resources on the site. Throughout the planning, we proposed effective structures that can be used modularly and that enable a wide range of functions. These modular structures can be flexibly expanded, are scalable and can be transferred to the DSK 500 project, which saves considerable costs and planning effort. Building a stable network of regional and international participants from different generations directly contributes to sustainability over time, since such a development cycle Ieads to a high Ievel of education in the region. One of the main materials that we use in our project is timber. lt is renewable, sustainable, provides a great speed of construction, and has zero emissions. With the use of this material we create a whole new image for the T echnopark. The industrial image transforms into something completely opposite. The administrative building and the hotel in front of the main Northern entrance are restored and protected with a new facade with the use of timber beams and wooden panels. The bridges in the main building are also made of timber. The core of the 5-storey co-working building in the southern part of the site is made of CL T -panels, which is also used to create the tribunes, partitions and moving walls in the sports facility. The Central Park in the main building is a symbol of sustainable approach for design and a semantic, conceptually dominant feature of the project. A side from being an eco-symbol, the park is weil integrated into the life-support system of the main building. During summer the trees provide shadow and fresh-air. Rainwaterand snow are gathered in underground reservoir, filtered and then used for domestic needs of the T echnopark. The transversal corridors located on the ground floor connect the park with the outside and can be used for service needs and even as driveways for smaller vehicles.
